Hello!
The first post is the most intimidating. Who am I? Who are you? I’m so excited you showed up! Here — have a cup of coffee, take a seat, stay a while.
I’m Sofia, and I’m a writer, editor, and printmaker based in Toronto, ON. I’ve been an avid reader since always, and that has since blossomed into a love of working with words. I graduated from Ryerson University with a BA, majoring in English and minoring in Sociology. Since then, I’ve completed the Publishing Certificate and started the creative writing program, both at The Chang School of Continuing Education.
I have a passion for YA fiction and rom-coms — I love adventure and I’m a complete and total sucker for a happy ending. If I had to recommend two books to you right now, I’d have to hand you my beloved copy of Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, and Star-Crossed by Minnie Darke. Both of these books use interweaving storylines and captivating characters to create stunning and heartfelt narratives.
I’ve been making linocut prints and stamps for just over a year now. I began printmaking when my mom signed me up for an art camp at the local gallery when I was a kid. I was able to try out silkscreening and linocut, but I was drawn to linocut. It wasn’t until almost 10 years later that I picked up a block cutter again to start making my own prints. Now, I make custom stamps and prints inspired by the natural ebb and flow of nature.
